3F Consulting is led by Colin Gray who has over 30 years experience in the tax and advisory services environment.
Since gaining a Law degree at Canterbury University, and being admitted to the High Court of New Zealand as a Barrister & Solicitor, Colin has worked at Price Waterhouse & Deloittes both here and in England, before running his own client bases in different firms in Christchurch. In 2018 he left his previous firm (after 16 years) to set up his own business under the banner 3 F Consulting Limited (feel free to ask him what the 3F stands for). Colin has taken this step to achieve a real balance in his own life - a business which provides what he needs, a lifestyle which works for him, and peace of mind. A key driver now is to help other people achieve their goals.
Colin has proven strengths in taxation planning and advisory work, whilst also understanding financial and business matters across a wide range of businesses. He has acted for professional athletes, multinational corporations in many sectors, and increasingly enjoys working with small to medium businesses, as well as individuals who seek help with their tax and future direction. After working within accounting firms for many years Colin has strong technical skills in Accounting matters which enables 3F Consulting to offer a wide range of accounting, bookkeeping, and Financial Statement and Tax Return preparation services.
One of Colin's key attributes is the ability to be approachable and enjoy dealing with people. This is critical we believe at 3F - clients (or prospective clients) need to enjoy dealing with us if the relationship is to provide the best outcomes, for all concerned. This also leads to Colin being a trusted advisor in setting business goals, financial plans, and discussing issues with clients which extend beyond the purely tax, accounting or business advisory fields.
Outside of work Colin enjoys being with his two fabulous children, travelling, cooking, socialising, and following a variety of sports - English football being his main passion.
